Are you attending tomorrow match against Chesterfield?

Do you have any unwanted items of clothing you could donate to a local charity?

On Saturday one of our NCS teams will be collecting clothes to be recycled, with all proceeds going to the Indee Rose Trust, a local charity that provides gift boxes to children suffering from brain or spinal cancer.

We are asking Blues’ fans to donate any unwanted items of clothing, which the team will recycle, and all profits going towards providing a child with a cancer a treasure box made specifically for them with all their favourite toys, books and accessories.

Children receiving the treasure boxes range from aged 0-16 so the boxes can contain anything from make-up and gossip magazines to rattles and sensory baby toys. Each box costs around £200 so anything we can raise to help fill these boxes would be a massive help.

Donations can be made before the game between 1-2.30pm in the community corner area and by the West Stand entrance (Shakespeare Dr), and all donations are welcome.

As well as this, another of our NCS Teams will be raising awareness for local charity Trustlinks, who provide gardening opportunities for people with disabilities. To raise awareness and funds for the group, Young People will be holding a coffee morning in the Shrimpers Bar at Roots Hall Stadium between 11-2pm. The event will be run by young people currently completing the NCS project with Southend United, so any support would be greatly appreciated.

If you would like any more information about the clothes drive or coffee morning, please call a member of the NCS team on 01702 341 351.
