Safer Internet Day

On Tuesday 9th February 2016, the UK and over 100 countries will be celebrating Safer Internet day, with Southend United also pledging their support to promote the day, and urges all Blues’ fans to ‘play their part for a better internet’.

Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the celebration sees hundreds of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

The UK Safer Internet centre aims to stamp out online abuse such as bullying, trolling or hate crime, by educating young people the ways that they can report such behaviour. The Blues’ are backing the campaign for safer internet by encouraging fans to using the #SID2016 hashtag and also using the #shareaheart social media campaign.
